This has been a classic art project in second grade for many years. The kids use Q-tips to make the dots to create a snowman. We discussed how this is the idea behind pointillism. Real pointillism includes making many small dots, often of different colors to create a new color to your eyes when you see the painting from far away. We used all the same color dots for each section, but at least followed the ideas of no brush strokes, only dots!
